Esme, the Spinning Sound Bowl

“Esme the spinning sound bowl”

This large scale vessel has been created from red elm wood. It has been sanded and waxed to the highest finish making it beautiful and comforting to the touch. This object presents sound and touch elements that gives depth to the objects aesthetics. The sound essence is stimulated when the bowl is spun on its brass base. A Braille quote, by Margaret Atwood, is written around the base in brass and says:

“Touch comes before sight before speech , it is the first and the last language and always tells the truth”

“The smoothness is comforting it makes me feel like I just want to give it a cuddle. I can hear the sound its soothing.”
